Reid drove solo to San Diego to spend the weekend with Don Hill at Sally Wellington's house. None of us are getting any younger, so this was worth the drive to spend some limited quality time together.

May 2022 - Breckenridge, Colorado

Amy Higgins won a lottery at work and was able to use her Company's 2.5 million dollar house in Breckenridge, Colorado. She invited us to join 9 other people for the week. Reid and Jenny hit the road early to see some sites before arriving in Breckenridge. We also delivered "Run Across America" DVDs to some of the firehouses visited in October 2001 during the run.

February 2022 - Painted Hills, Oregon

Reid and Jenny and Katie Mayer took a day trip to see the sights. First, we went to the Painted Hills. After that, we had lunch at Tiger Town Brewing in the town of Mitchell. We then went to the Thomas Condon Paleontology Center in Kimberly. After that, we headed home.
February 2022 - Newport, Oregon

Reid and Jenny drove to the Coast in our Ford Escape. No RV this trip. We visited Devil's Punchbowl, Yaquina Head Lighthouse, Oregon Coast Aquarium and scouted the terminus of the C2C Trail (c2ctrail.org). We spent the night in Corvallis then returned home through Scio.
November 2021 - San Francisco, California

Reid and Jenny drove to San Francisco to attend Kevin King's Memorial Service. We stayed in Redding the first night. The next day, we stopped by Mercedes Benz Santa Rosa to complain about the rear view camera on our van (long story). Then we drove to the beach and scored the last remaining camp site at Bodega Dunes Campground. Good weather and we had a nice campfire. The next morning, we packed up and drove to Scotts Valley to visit Reid's sister. We got there in time to see Bella's soccer game and then spent some more quality time with Family. On Sunday, we drove to the Presidio for the memorial service. It was quite a send off! Malcolm McDowell read a poem by Kevin King called Have Your Last Words Ready. There were emotional readings by family members and even a reading by Conan O'Brien. There were some other famous people there including Allyson Felix. A beautiful tribute.
October 2021 - Beaverton, Oregon

Reid drove to Beaverton to see the movie Dune with his friend Brent and Brent's daughter Hannah. We saw it in Imax which was awesome. Reid then went to Spirit Mountain Casino "on the way home", took a beating at the Craps table, then spent the night in the RV parking lot.

Reid, Jenny and Nick drove to the Oregon Coast for a few days to get out of the Central Oregon heat wave.
July 2021 - Ouray, Colorado

This was a family reunion in Ouray at "Backlog"; the cabin owned by Reid and his Sister Megan. While we were there, we spread Mom's ashes. She died October 2nd, 2019, but we were unable to spread her ashes in 2020 due to the Global Pandemic.
March 2021 - Utah National Parks

We left Redmond, Oregon on March 22nd, 2021. We spent the night with our good friends Dan and Amy Higgins in Caldwell, Idaho. We spent the next night in an RV park in Heber City, Utah. The temperature dropped to 19 degrees Farenheit, but we were nice and toasty in our RV thanks to the propane heater. The next two nights, we stayed near Moab, Utah and explored Arches, Dead Horse Point State Park, and Canyonlands. Then off to Capitol Reef and Bryce Canyon via the Grand Staircase / Escalante National Monument. We drove through Zion, but didn't stop much since it was extremely crowded. We boondocked after Zion, then headed home through Nevada near Great Basin National Park. Our windshield got hit with a golfball sized rock in Utah and we had to get it replaced after getting home on March 30th. A fun trip and a good time of year to see the Parks!
